Alaska Native Cultural Heritage and Artistic Sovereignty in Museums

Funding supporting museum curation, cultural object identification, and partnerships amplifying Alaska Native voices in museum settings.

Program Overview

The Cultural Heritage in Museums grant is a specialized funding track dedicated to the ethical curation, repatriation, and exhibition of Alaska Native artifacts.

TCF fiercely advocates for Museum Sovereignty—the principle that indigenous communities must maintain control, context, and narrative authority over how their cultural history is presented to the world.

This grant funds museum partnerships, indigenous curation teams, and exhibitions that prioritize the Cook Inlet region's heritage from a Native perspective.
