Kaylee Merrill is a 2023 graduate of SUNY Potsdam with a Bachelor’s Degree in Exercise Science with magna cum laude honors. Kaylee was awarded Outstanding Exercise Science Student of the 2022-2023 academic year and was on the President’s List every semester she attended Potsdam.
Kaylee also played Women’s Hockey while attending full-time classes. She received many awards as a student-athlete: 2019-2020: North Eastern Women’s Hockey League (NEWHL) All-Rookie Team and Potsdam Athletic Department’s Newcomer of the Year 2021-2022 & 2022-2023: Potsdam MVP for Women’s Hockey 2022-2023: NEWHL All-Conference First Team, NEWHL Player and Scholar of the Year, CCM/AHCA All-American, Potsdam’s NCAA-era single-season goals and points record holder, and the Maxcy/Molnar Award recipient. Kaylee is a 4-time NEWHL Player of the Week and six-time Potsdam Athlete of the Week.
Kaylee’s hockey season was canceled in 2020-2021, so she plans to go back in the fall to compete in her final year of NCAA eligibility as Captain of the Women’s Hockey team and earn her Master’s Degree in Management.
Kaylee and her family are very appreciative of the generous scholarships The CIRI Foundation has awarded her while she completed her Bachelor’s Degree.
